Formerly the Director of Development Financial and Enterprise Department, Bank Negara Malaysia. The department is responsible to foster the development of robust and progressive Development Financial Institutions, and to develop competitive SMEs in achieving socio-economic objectives of the country. He joined the Bank Negara Malaysia in 1982 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Resource Economics from University Putra Malaysia and was later gaining his Mason Fellowship upon graduation in Master on Public Administration from Harvard in 1990. In 1992, he was appointed as the Head of Offshore Unit in Labuan and then in the same year resuming the position as Chief Forex Trader until 1996 and also served as Deputy General Manager in Labuan Development Authority until 1999 and finally settled as the Director of Development Financial and Enterprise Department, Bank Negara Malaysia since 2008 until his retirement before he joined Bank Simpanan Nasional.

EXPERIENCE: Aida Lim Abdullah has more than 25 years of leadership experience in a variety of organizations and institutions ranging from audit firms, financial institution, GLCs to regulators, such as Bursa Malaysia Bhd (“Bursa”, Malaysia’s Stock Exchange) and the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”). She has in depth Financial and Capital Market experience in a variety of roles, including ESG, Corporate Governance, Compliance, Internal Control, Risk Management, Audit, Banking, Treasury, Corporate Finance, Merger and Acquisition, Investment Analysis, Financial Technology, Digital Solutions, Shariah Finance, Halalan & Toyibban Business Eco-System.

Her previous position includes CEO of Penang Halal International, an agency of the Penang State Government to develop Halal Business Eco system. She was a Member of the Board of Governors of Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance (MICG). Prior to this, she was the Chief of Corporate Governance and Business Ecosystem of QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd, a key subsidiary of Johor Corporation (JCorp). Chairman of Halal Hub Policy Drafting Committee by SIRIM/ Halal Development Corporation.
She spent a total of 14 years of regulatory role in Bursa her key functions included regulating conduct of public listed companies and its management, promoting corporate governance as well as active involvement in regulatory operational matters, the drafting of policies / listing requirement and capital market guidelines. She spent another 3 years in the SC, Investor Affairs, Chairman’s department, leading team to study, analyse and derive solutions for the capital market development issues.

She has also founded her own corporate digital solution company, Corporate Streets Sdn Bhd that provides solutions, advisory, trainings, custom made digital solutions.
